NBC’s hit series “Superstore” gave Filipino fans a treat after the show’s Mateo and Marcus characters started speaking in Filipino.
Superstore tweeted about the dialogue in the Philippine language, saying on January 25, 2020, “Mateo and Marcus arguing in Tagalog is everything we never knew we needed.”

In the scene, Mateo, played by Filipino-American actor Nico Santos, is shown bursting out in Tagalog while arguing with Jon Barinholtz, who plays Marcus.
The Filipino moment was even more tickling as Marcus responds, also in Filipino.
The cursing dialogue notwithstanding, netizens were tickled by the exchange, with Twitter user Sanriel Ajero @sanriel posting, “In this week’s Superstore, Mateo and Marcus got into a cute heated Tagalog argument haha”.

Nico Santos, who also starred in the blockbuster 2019 film “Crazy Rich Asians“, has been known to advocate for representation of diversity in Hollywood. Santos was born and raised in the Philippines and migrated to the United States.
