South Korea’s “Running Man”, the popular variety show on Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS), will soon air its Philippine edition on GMA Network.
GMA Network signed a deal with SBS Productions on February 11, 2020, to co-produce the longest running South Korean show which first aired in 2010 and featured Korean stars such as IU and Girls’ Generation.
“Running Man Philippines” will be presented as a spin-off of the original Seoul television series and would be just like the original which features games and performances by the hosts and guests.
Pinoy artists and Filipino culture will be incorporated into the local version of the show, SBS Korea Chief Global Contents Officer Kim Yong Jae said to GMA reporters at their contract signing.
Netizens were over the moon with the news. Here are some reactions on Twitter:

This is not the first time SBS collaborated with the Philippines. It was announced last January that another show called “Law of the Jungle” is set to film their show this year in the Philippines’ renowned island of Palawan.
