The University of Santo Tomas (UST) Senior High’s Official Dance Troupe, Galvanize, once again bagged the Philippine championship title at the Asian HipHop Philippines, earning them the right to represent the country and defend their title as the Asian HipHop Dance Champions in the competition to be held in May 2020.
UST Galvanize ranked no. 1 with an average score of 93.50% for this year’s Preliminary Round, announced Asian Hiphop Philippines on January 22, 2020.
This is the second straight year that Galvanize Dance Troupe won in the same competition’s Philippine leg which they won in November 2018 and eventually led to their winning the Asian Hiphop Championship last May 2019.
The dance crew will once again vie in the finals of the Asian Hip-hop Dance Competition on May 2020 in Hongkong against other teams from Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Macau.
Varsity dance crews are known to be passionate about dance and have won accolades from around the world, among them, the University of the Philippines-based UPeepz who won 1st runner up at the Body Rock California Championships and College of St. Benilde Romancon Dance Company who won the All Generation Championships in South Korea.
