The Philippine Robotics National Team represented by Dr. Yanga Colleges Inc. (DYCI) took the GOLD at the World Robot Olympiad in Hungary – out classing 74 countries with over 2700 participants in the most and prestigious and largest Robotics and Advance Robotics event in the world.
The Philippines’ Gold award was won by DYCI Junior Primes in the Elementary-Open Category in the competitions held November 8 -10, 2019, at the Győr Városi Egyetemi Csarnok Stadium.
The DYCI Junior Primes team is comprised of Gabriel Ortega, Ayesha San Pedro and Leslie Guadalupe and mentored by Beryl Cruz, Anne Raz, King Olgado, and DYCI President Kel Yanga.
Dr. Yanga Colleges bested competitors in the robotics contest with their project “Visually Impaired Supportive Instrument Operative and Navigator” (VISION).
The VISION project is designed to promote Inclusive Smart City Education and Governance solution that aims to help visually impaired students to navigate places. The robotics project includes the Braille system and a Minibot for carrying their bag.
FELTA MultiMedia CEO Mylene Abiva announced the win for the Philippines as she led the Philippine Robotics National Team delegation to the 2019 World Robot Olympiad that had for its theme, Smart Cities.
Dr. Yanga Colleges Inc. has been winning gold medals in robotics for the Philippines, among them, Gold at the 2019 World Robot Olympiad in Denmark and the Gold at the FIRST LEGO League Open in Turkey.
