Jamie Lim captured the gold to lead Karate Pilipinas’ haul of 8 medals at the 2019 Amatör Spor Haftasi Karate Championship in Turkey.
Jamie Lim bested Turkey’s bet in a decisive 8-0 scorecard to win the championship title in the Senior Female -68kgs Kumite division of the competitions held on October 13 in Sakarya.
Jamie Christine Berberabe Lim, daughter of Philippine Basketball Association legendary player Samboy “Skywalker” Lim and Darlene Berberabe, made headlines earlier this year as a University of the Philippines 2019 Summa Cum Laude graduate in Mathematics.
The young Lim, who has been training and competing since she was 6 years old, led the national team’s 1 Gold, 3 Silver, 4 Bronze medals finish at the games.

Karate Pilipinas is has been training in Turkey as part of their preparations for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in December.
Filipino martial artists have been winning medals for the Philippines, among them, Pinoy jins in this year’s World Martial Arts Mastership Games in South Korea and the Asian Taekwondo Championships in Vietnam.
Pinoy mixed martial artists have also gained international recognition, among them, Team Lakay, Eduardo Folayang, and Ana Julaton.
