Alden Richards captured the hearts of South Korea’s drama fans as the Filipino actor visited the Kdrama-land to receive recognition from the Seoul International Drama Awards.

Alden Richards trended on South Korea social media and made headlines as he walked the red carpet and received the Asian Star Prize at the 14th Seoul International Drama Awards held at the Hall of Peace in Kyunghee University on August 28.

Richards was in Seoul to receive recognition “for Asian talents widely beloved by Korean audiences” given by the Seoul Drama Awards Committee and the Korean Broadcasters Association.

“This award is extra special because it comes at a time when we are celebrating 70 years of friendship between the Philippines and South Korea,” Richards said in his acceptance speech.

Alden’s latest Instagram post from Korea showed the actor garbed in Hanbok traditional clothes for men while making the popular Korean heart signal with his fingers. He captioned the photo with a promise to return, “It was a short but memorable trip to Korea. Maraming salamat! I will be back very soon…Saranghaeyo.”
