Filipina table tennis Paralympian Josephine Medina bagged the gold medal at the 2019 International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) – Para Bangkok Open.
The Pinay table tennis athlete played strong throughout the tournament and emerged winner of the Women’s Single Class TT7 event in the international tilt held from August 8 to 10 held at the Hua Mark Stadium in Thailand.
The two-time Paralympic athlete upset Wong Yue Ching of Hong Kong and Fadhik Sitti of Indonesia to reach the quarterfinals. Medina then defeated Indonesian players Hamida Hamida and Suwarti Suwarti in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.
In the battle for gold in the finals, Josephine Medina swept the game against Australian Christina Wolf, with the final score, 3-0.
