Filipino customer service from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and Grab taxi earned praises from an international passenger who lost his Chanel bag in transit.
NAIA reported on July 21 about receiving thanks from Gao Hao Wei, a passenger bound for Puerto Princesa, who recovered the bag he left in the Grab taxi on his way to NAIA.
The expensive Chanel bag carried an equivalent of P37k in cash, mobile phone, passport, and other important documents.
The tourist reported the loss to airport police which then had APO1 Alyn Joy Aliporo contact Grab Taxi driver Ricky Chan. The driver found the bag and immediately brought it back to NAIA.
NAIA reported that Passenger Gao Hao Wei expressed sincere gratitude because according to him, more than his expensive bag and everything else inside it, it is his passport that matters the most.
“I personally thank those who worked for this particular case. Undoubtedly, they continue to live the culture of honesty in their workplace. Maliit na bagay na nakakatulong ng malaki sa pagpapaganda ng imahe ng mga manggagawa sa ating paliparan,” said MIAA General Manager Ed Monreal.
The airport chief has ordered the inclusion of APO1 Aliporo in the list of awardees in MIAA’s August flag-raising ceremony. NAIA regularly commends airport personnel for honesty and excellence.
