Mrs. Eco Philippines Shiela DeForest raised the Philippine flag in Las Vegas and won the Mrs. Eco International 2019 crown.
The former public affairs officer of the British Embassy in Manila emerged as the winner among 8 division candidates from all over the world and was hailed as the pageant’s first Mrs. Eco International title holder on June 29 (June 30 Manila Time).
Shiela DeForest also won special awards for Best Eco Video, Best Charitable Giver, and Best Eco Costume for a blue satin terno embellished with used tetra pack cut-outs.
The Pinay beauty queen with roots from Laguna joins the roster of Filipina international queens pushing environment-related advocacies such as Miss Eco International 2018 Cynthia Thomalla, Miss Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco, and Miss Nature Intercontinental 2017 Sarah Bona.

DeForest’s winning video was shot primarily in Baguio City and focused on both the beauty and the environmental concerns the city is currently facing.
In her social media post, the newly crowned Filipina beauty queen expressed her gratitude to all who helped in her international pageant journey.
The 45-year old former model and flight attendant will now take the lead in advocating for environmental protection with various organizations and is set to be the face of environmental-friendly products worldwide.
