Filipino-American comedian Jo Koy immediately moved up 4 notches within a week of debuting in the Top 10 Comedians Social Climbers Charts of The Hollywood Reporter (THR).
The Fil-Am performer, whose brand of comedy pokes fun at his Filipino and Asian heritage, debuted Top 8 on the June 19 edition of THR charts. He was the lone first-timer in the chart that lists 9 other veteran comedians.
In the June 26 edition of THR, Jo Koy moved up to Top 4 just behind Kevin Hart (1), DL Hughley (2), Ricky Gervais, (3).

Jo Koy’s debut in the list is ascribed by THR to be “due chiefly to 144,000 Facebook post likes, up 128 percent, paced by a June 8 upload showing how to say ‘What did you say?’ in Tagalog that was played for humor.
THR Social Climbers charts rank the most popular personalities and TV shows based on data from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Google Plus. The chart considers engagement in social media accounts along with weekly additions of followers and subscribers.
