Filipino Jiu-Jitsu athletes Annie Ramirez and Gian Dee took home gold medals after being declared world champions at the Abu Dhabi World Masters Jiu-Jitsu Championship (ADWMJJC) 2019.
The Filipino champion athletes bested competitors at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in late April.
Ramirez won against Sophia Dalpra to earn her first gold medal in the Jiu Jitsu professional world. Ranked as the number 1 female Jiu Jitsuka in the Philippines, Ramirez has been coaching young Jiu jitsukas at Academia John Baylon – Clube De Jiu Jitsu Filipinas.
Dee took home a gold medal after winning against his opponent Mohammed Magharef. Dee is ranked as a number 1 Jiu Jitsuka male athlete in the Philippines and a top Jiu Jitsuka athlete in Asia.
Both Jiu Jitsuka athletes we’re sent to Abu Dhabi and supported by The Jiu-Jitsu Federation of the Philippines.
Filipinos are known in the world of Jiu Jitsu as excellent fighters. Recently Filipino-Belgian Lodens brothers won silver and bronze medals from the Ju-Jitsu Grand Slam Paris Open.
