St. Scholastica’s College K-12 students and their company, Terra Philippines, won the major title and another plum award at the 2019 JA Asia Pacific Company of the Year (COY) Competition.
Terra Philippines, a company producing “The Isla” eco-friendly bags, was awarded 1st Place Company of the Year and the FedEx Access Award in the competition.
Terra Philippines went up against 19 competitors from across the Asia Pacific region in awarding ceremonies held in Makati City on March 13.
The Isla bags are promoted by Terra as the “newest fashion staple and go-to bag for coffee shop moments” offering easy organization of bag items and quick access using detachable organizers.
“Terra advocates to lessen textile waste in the bag industry, which is why the interior of our bag is made from 100% recycled fabric. The coco coir accents are crafted to make your bag stylish with a purpose. Terra aims to use local products to promote our country and preserve our culture,” according to The Isla promotional video.
The winning Terra team is composed of Alaina Carlize Tria (Chief Executive Officer), Gwen Villaver (Marketing Executive Vice President), Raphaella Mae Sanchez (Executive Vice President for Human Resources), and Porsha Mangilit (Corporate Secretary).
