Xian Lim lent his voice once again to the character of Paddington Bear for the Philippine release of the sequel Paddington 2.
Based on a popular children’s book, Paddington 2 stars Nicole Kidman, Sally Hawkins and Imelda Staunton, it tells the adventures and misadventures of a Peruvian bear who set out to London to find a new home.
Xian was handpicked by the producers of “Paddington” to voice the eponymous character. He said that he auditioned for the role by sending voice tapes to Studio Canal in London.
Xian was chosen to voice act for Paddington for the first time in 2015. He immediately gained approval from Paddington producers in the UK.
The Philippines is the only market where a local actor has been allowed to voice for Paddington.
In the film’s second installment, Paddington, now settled with the Brown family, picks up a series of odd jobs to buy the perfect present for his Aunt Lucy’s 100th birthday.
Xian’s good friend, Kim Chiu said that she is proud of Xian. I’m happy that he is now an international artist.,” Kim said during the Paddington’s premiere night.
Directed by Paul King, Paddington 2 will be in Philippine theaters nationwide on January 31.
