An 81-year-old grandmother, Salvacion “Lola Sally” Flores Nacario, has finally achieved her dream of wearing a graduation robe – proving it is never too late to get an education.
Lola Sally graduated from Senior High School on April 4 from Fort Bonifacio High School in Makati.
The story of Lola Sally first came to netizens’ and media attention in 2018 as the grandmother was seen on social media posts wearing a high school uniform during her Grade 11 moving up ceremonies.
Lola Sally’s journey to her high school graduation march is a colorful tale of how the senior citizen persevered to get her diploma despite her difficulties in walking, a mild stroke, and adapting to new ways of learning.
A Facebook post of Lola Sally in her graduation robe posted on Facebook by fellow graduate Chryzaine Dionisio has again caught the attention of people who sent congratulations and encouraging words to the oldest high school graduate of Fort Bonifacio HS.
In a television report by PTV 4’s Stephanie Sevillano, Lola Sally revealed her intent to pursue studies in nursing as her dream was to become a military nurse.
Lola Sally has proven that it is never too late to get an education and that age does not matter as long as you are willing to learn.
