The country’s first bank, the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), celebrated its 168th anniversary this year by booking over Php500 million worth of travel, housing, auto, and lifestyle assistance to consumers.
The promo deals for thousands of clients and walk-in guests were generated at the BPI Big Blowout held in August at the Glorietta in Makati City. The event is a follow up to the inaugural BPI Big Blowout held in June.
Among the bonanza of low loan rates, free insurance, waived fees, and discounted down payments, were offers for travel destinations, staycation packages, car loans, and housing loans.
BPI Southern Metro Manila Branches Division Head Olga Ang said the program aimed to give clients the chance to afford their dreams.
“Through this program, we offered exceptionally affordable financial options that enabled many individuals and young families to finally achieve their aspirations. Like we always say, BPI is at your service. We have been, and always will be, coming up with products that will prepare you financially to be Ready Today. Ready Tomorrow,” Ang said in a media release sent to Good News Pilipinas.
The highlights of BPI’s special anniversary offer included one-year free motor insurance and free chattel mortgage for auto loans, a 6.88% fixed interest rate for five years and waived fees of up to P50,000.00 for housing loans, and a 0.98% interest rate for loans worth P100,000.00 for 36 months, as well as discounts on travel packages. BPI Mitsui Sumimoto (BPI/MS) Insurance also offered income protection for as low as P5,000.00.
Participating merchants and partners include car dealers from AC Automotive (Honda Cars Makati, Isuzu Automotive Dealers, Kia, KTM, Maxus, and Volkswagen), Ayala Land, and Ayala lifestyle partners Seda Hotels, Fairmont Makati, and El Nido Resorts. Special participation from Ark Travel Express provided clients with exciting travel deals.
BPI also highlighted the “transfer via QR code” feature of its mobile banking app. Customers were able to purchase beverages from a popular milk tea brand for only Php50 just by using BPI’s “transfer via QR code”.
