The 15th Philippine SME Business Expo (PHILSME) successfully gathered 12,000 entrepreneurs last November 22-23, 2024, at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. The two-day event celebrated and empowered Filipino small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by offering a platform for business solutions, networking, and industry insights.

Empowering Filipino SMEs
This year’s PHILSME event, with the theme “Unlock Upliftment: Taking on Innovation, Coalition, and Excellent Client Relations for an Empowered Nation”, featured a dynamic lineup of 180 business solutions from 120 exhibitors, including prominent brands like GCash for Business, QNE Software Philippines, Odoo, Bossjob, and Security Bank.
The expo also hosted a powerhouse roster of 30 keynote speakers and panelists, such as:
- Josiah Go, Chairman & Chief Innovation Strategist of Mansmith & Fielders, presented “The 4 Gates of Entrepreneurship.”
- RJ Ledesma, Co-Founder of Mercato Centrale, shared insights on “The Secrets of Successful Entrepreneurs: The Entrepreneurial Mindset.”
- Amor Maclang, Convenor of Digital Pilipinas, joined by Dimnatang Radia, Deputy Executive Director of the Philippine Trade Training Center, and Arlene Martinez, Founder of the Asia Center for Small Business, in discussing “SMEs: At the Frontline of Building a Digital Pilipinas.”
- Trixie Esguerra-Abrenilla, PHILSME CEO and Managing Director, delivered a talk on “The Vision Beyond Business Solutions.”
Additionally, business leaders and experts led panels on government services, innovation, and customer service.
Exciting Highlights
PHILSME 2024 also presented unique opportunities for attendees, including the Re:Brand Initiative, in partnership with Design For Tomorrow, which offered one lucky MSME a full luxury branding service. Attendees enjoyed exclusive perks such as cash prizes, mentorship programs, and significant discounts available only during the event.
On Day 1, a special Networking Night brought together PHILSME Network members, exhibitors, and sponsors for an exclusive evening of connection and collaboration.
On Day 2, Good News Pilipinas Managing Editor Angie Quadra-Balibay announced the GNP Academy for Entrepreneurs, a free mentoring program exclusive to the PHILSME 2024 participants.

Looking Ahead
Trixie Esguerra-Abrenilla emphasized the event’s holistic approach to business empowerment: “While PHILSME primarily provides a platform for business solutions, we are also going beyond that—we care about one’s overall upliftment. Looking ahead, PHILSME is gearing up for its 16th edition in May 2025, along with the return of the 12th Baby, Kids, and Family Expo and the 7th Entrepreneur and Franchise Expo in November 2025.
