Top 1: Filipina teen tennis champion Alex Eala
Alexandra “Alex” Eala, the teen tennis champion from the Philippines, won the women’s professional championship at the ITF World Tennis Tour in Thailand and also won the admiration of our readers, taking the top slot in April 2022.
The 16-year-old Eala picked up her second professional title, trophy, and $25,000 prize money at the finals of W25 Chiang Rai on April 10, 2022, after overwhelming the hometown bet and Southeast Asian Games champion Luksika Kumkhum, 6-4, 6-2.

Top 2: Rare Philippine Warty Pig
At Mount Apo in Davao, a rare Philippine warty pig was spotted for the first time.
During a monitoring operation at the Mt. Apo Natural Park (MANP) last Lenten season, staff from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) discovered the endemic Sus philippensis, also known as the Philippine warty pig or “baboy-ramo” or “baboy-ihalas.”
