Former child star Danica McKellar walked on the Red Dress Collection runway for the charity of American Heart Association wearing Filipino designer Oliver Tolentino’s gown.
Known as “Winnie Cooper” on The Wonder Years the now 44-year-old McKellar posted on Instagram the dress she wore on the runway, along with her other selections from Oliver Tolentino, the Beverly Hills and Manila-based Filipino fashion designer.
“So proud to raise awareness for women’s heart health while walking the runway, wearing this stunner by @theolivertolentino last night! How do you like this dress compared to the runners up I posted a few days ago?? It’s much edgier than I usually wear but I loved it – so perfect for fashion week.”
McKellar also said her joining the charity event made her more aware of women health issues.
“I was thrilled when they asked me to do this because it sounded like a lot of fun to walk down the runway but also to raise awareness about cardiovascular health. I did not know that cardiovascular health is the number one killer of women above and beyond all forms of cancer combined,” McKellar shared.
For his part, Tolentino told media, “The red dress collection, you know what’s nice? It’s hosted by the American Heart Association. Being part of this event is an honor. This is my second year. The first year, I dressed up Lea Salonga. This year, Danica McKellar. She’s very, very nice. She went to the store. She fitted a lot of gowns.”
