Popular video-sharing platform TikTok is donating USD 1 million to the Philippine General Hospital Medical Foundation Inc. (PGHMFI).
The TikTok donation is intended to secure personal protective equipment (PPE) and other essentials for health workers in the frontline of the battle against COVID-19.
TikTok and PGH Medical Foundation confirmed on April 9, 2020, the cash donation that intends “to benefit doctors and medical workers in the Philippines who are working around the clock and under incredibly challenging circumstances to save lives.”
“We are looking forward to seeing better and brighter days with you,” said TikTok to the frontliners who have seen their fellow health workers succumb to the coronavirus disease 2019.
The University of the Philippines-run PGH has been designated by the government as a COVID-19 referral center. It has set up the Bayanihan Na! UP-PGH COVID-19 Operations Center Hotline 155-200 to answer questions related to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) from patients as well as donors and volunteers.
UP doctors have released a video to inspire their fellow frontliners at the Philippine General Hospital.
SEND CHEERS in the comments below to TikTok for donating 1M dollars to help protect PGH medical personnel battling against COVID-19.
