Pinay sharp-shooter Janine Pontejos wins FIBA 3×3 World Cup Shootout Title

Perlas Pilipinas stalwart Janine Pontejos gave the country a wonderful Independence gift by winning the 2018 Fiba 3×3 World Cup Shootout Final at the Philippine Arena.

The sharp-shooter from Centro Escolar University scored 14 points, including eight straight long balls and a pair from the money ball rack to win the crown.

Silver medalist Russia’s Alexandra Stolyar also tallied 14 points, but Pontejos was 8 seconds quicker than her.

Croatia’s Marin Hrvoje snatched the bronze medal with 11 points. Maksim Dybovskii settled for 4th place with 8 points.

Pontejos gained one of the 4 slots of the finals as she scored 6 points in 22 seconds last Sunday during the qualifying phase.
