Palawan’s Entalula Beach in El Nido and Romblon Island’s Bon Bon Beach are in the global spotlight after being recognized in the World’s 50 Best Beaches 2024 edition.

Entalula Beach ranked in the Top 4 while Bon Bon Beach placed 45th in the World’s 50 Best Beaches, a definitive and authoritative list that provides inspiration and information to beachgoers.

The prestigious best-of-list, voted by over 1,000 leading travel experts, showcases breathtaking and sought-after destinations ranked for their uniqueness, natural splendor, wildlife, pristine nature, ease of access, calmness of water, lack of crowding, and idyllic conditions.

Entalula Beach

Dubbed Palawan’s “overlooked slice of heaven”, Entalula Beach is loved for its seclusion that is only accessible by boat. Its stunning natural features and serene ambiance make it a sought-after destination for relaxation and appreciating nature.

This nature is less frequented than others in the area, offering visitors a chance to escape the usual tourist spots and truly immerse themselves in nature,” World’s Best Beaches wrote about Entalula.

Visitors are welcomed by its clear water, perfect for both swimming and snorkeling and white, sandy shores with its striking limestone cliffs that provide a stunning and dramatic backdrop.

Entalula Beach joins Trunk Bay (US Virgin Islands), Cala Mariolu (Italy), Meads Bay (Anguilla), and Voutoumi Beach (Greece) in the top 5 list, surpassing Palawan’s previous world’s top picks. Big7 Travel named Secret Lagoon the 6th best beach while Hidden Beach was ranked 19th by Condé Nast Traveller (CNT) United Kingdom earlier this year.

Entalula also holds the record as the Best Beach in Asia, ahead of Pink Beach of Indonesia (ranked 7th) and the Horse Shoe Island of Myanmar (ranked 10th) in the top 10 list.

Bon Bon Beach

The Island of Romblon is known for its local marble industry and as the second producer of minerals in the country, but also harbors beautiful secret beaches like the Bon Bon Beach.

The ”laid-back undeveloped paradise” is admired for its unique natural sandbar that stretches out to its neighboring islet, the Bangug Island. During low tides, this sandbar emerges, allowing the visitors to walk across Bangug Island and explore both beaches.

The beach itself is undeveloped, preserving its serene and unspoiled charm. The sand is fine and white, while the water is incredibly clear, providing lovely swimming conditions without big waves,” the World’s Best Beach described Bon Bon.

Despite being less than five kilometers from the provincial port and making it easily accessible to tourists, Bon Bon Beach remains a lesser-known destination in Romblon. However, this hidden gem offers tourists a peaceful retreat, often allowing visitors to keep the beach to themselves.

The recognition of the Philippine beach was praised by the Department of Tourism (DOT) in a Facebook post.

“This latest accolade reaffirms the country’s reputation as one of the world’s premier beach destinations,” DOT announced on Facebook.
