K-Pop sensation Nancy McDonie of the girl group Momoland revealed her friendship with Filipina Charlie Dizon as she congratulated the 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Best Actress winner.
The famous K-Pop singer posted a photo of the Filipino actress in her Instagram story on December 29, 2020, saying she was proud of Charlie, whom she considers her “best friend in the Philippines.”
“Best actress,” Nancy wrote in the caption. “I am so proud and impressed with your performance. You are amazing, Charlie. You deserve best actress. Congratulations.”
The 24-year-old Charlie Dizon is earning praises from fans and international critics alike for her breakthrough role in “Fan Girl” which won her major acting recognition during the first-ever digital MMFF 2020.
“Fan Girl” also stars Paulo Avelino and is directed by Antoinette Jadaone. It bagged the most awards in the MMFF this year which streams Filipino movies online for everyone around the world until January 7, 2021.

Filipina celebrity Charlie Dizon and K-Pop idol Nancy Jewel McDonie became co-trainees in South Korea during their early teenage years. The two have remained good friends despite the distance.
Charlie Dizon plays the titular role of the “Fan Girl” in the movie which earlier had its world premiere at the Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) and competed at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia.
