Miss Universe 2017 will highlight Philippine tourist spots when the international beauty pageant is held in the country in January 2017.
Six tourism destinations, 2 from each of the three major island groups of the country, will be featured during the 65 th Miss Universe, according to the Department of Tourism.
Mindanao will be represented by Davao, the hometown of President Rodrigo Duterte, and Cagayan de Oro, the hometown of the current title holder Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach who is set to pass on her crown in her homeland.
The World’s Best Islands, Boracay and Cebu in the Visayas, will be highlighted during the month-long pageant events.
Luzon’s historic Vigan and Palawan, which topped the World’s Best Islands award, are also in the pageant route.
Manila will host the coronation night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on January 30, 2017.
