Oryspa CEO Sherill Quintana is the first Filipino to win the Asia Pacific Woman Entrepreneur Award.
Quintana, a Filipino brand advocate, was given the award at the 32nd Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) Conference held in Istanbul, Turkey.
The CACCI citation recognized the Filipina business leader for her “entrepreneurial and business leadership, contribution to the social well-being of the local community, practice of good business ethics, and support of the chamber movement in the region.”
In a social media post Quintana, who serves as PCCI’s Committee Chair for Women and Social Entrepreneurship, wrote about praying to win the award to bring home the recognition for the Philippines.
The founder of Oryspa, the number 1 100-percent rice bran based health and beauty spa products in the Philippines, recalled how one of the judges told her why she won the award: “Sherill, you won because of how you look beyond your own journey but more of how you model how a woman entrepreneur and an MSME can bring your journey in greater heights but remained viciously authentic to your vision and values. More will believe they also can.”
Quintana thanked her mentors and supporters, acknowledged her alma mater the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) for her education, and the Malayan Colleges where she currently teaches.
Talking about the oft-repeated question for women, the Filipina model entrepreneur was asked, “How do you balance family life with success?” to which Quintana responded:
“I am not an island in this journey, one of the greatest blessings I am endowed with: remarkable support system of family, mentors, friends & community my children’s teachers.” Quintana also recognized her Oryspa team, franchisees, consultants, and husband Jingle Edwin Francis Quintana.
Sherill Quintana dedicated her Asia Pacific Woman Entrepreneur Award to “fellow Filipino homegrown brands and Filipina entrepreneurs, I am humbled to share the inspiration I, too, get from your journeys.”
Congratulate Sherill Quintana for raising the Philippines’ flag with Filipina power in Istanbul.
