UPDATED: Yuka Saso has kept her co-leadership spot at the 2020 Daio Paper Elleair Ladies Open of the Ladies Professional Golfers’ Association of Japan (LPGA) Tour after wrapping up the second round today.
Earlier on November 20, 2020, the Filipino-Japanese Asian Games and Japan LPGA’s first champion from the Philippines took over the leaderboard of the four-round tournament in the early rankings, overtaking yesterday’s co-leader Yuna Nishimura.
The 19-year-old Yuka Saso brilliantly opened her bid with a co-leadership of the 39th edition of the Daio Paper Elleair Ladies Open which runs from November 19 to 22 at the Elleair Golf Club Matsuyama Ehime Prefecture.
The Mercedes Benz Player of the Year race leader took the first four consecutive birdies of the first round on November 19 and continued to display her championship form.
“What I have to do now is to pass the qualifying and enjoy golf as usual. I’m happy if I can do that,” Saso said in the JLPGA report.
