The Iglesia ni Cristo broke a Guinness World Record for the largest human sentence with 23,235 participants. Wearing various colors, members of the religious group formed the sentence “Proud to be a member of Iglesia Ni Cristo” held at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila on Sunday.
According to Guinness adjudicator Paulina Sapinska, the participants had beaten the previous largest human sentence “You can you will” set by 16,550 students on August 10, 2016 who celebrated World Youth Day in India.
“You are officially amazing,” Sapinska said, after breaking the record.
The INC’s feat was achieved during its Worldwide Walk to Fight Poverty that was held simultaneously with those in 43 other countries across 18 time zones.
Organizers also aimed to set new records in the categories largest picture mosaic formed by people and the most nationalities in a charity walk.
The proceeds of the Second Worldwide Walk will be used to continue providing food and medical assistance for those in immediate need in impoverished communities.
