Retired world boxing champion Floyd Mayweather has been touring the Philippines and has good things to say about his impressions of the country and its people.
Mayweather who arrived on May 8 was caught on Dyan Castillejo’s camera starting off his Philippine vacation by playing some basketball for Filipino fans, known to consider the ball game its unofficial national sport, before he hopped on a plane to Palawan.
The undefeated world champion gamely joined a singing troop’s welcome as he landed in El Nido, Palawan known famous worldwide for its bluest waters.
Instagram and twitter posts showed how Mayweather enjoyed the waters of Palawan, the islands and the Philippine sunset, and El Nido’s renowned lagoon.
Asked by Castillejo for his impressions about the Philippines, Mayweather responded:
“It’s been great. People are very nice, really generous, really respectful, fun, caring. I like it.”
Mayweather was also seen shopping and greetings his fans in one of the malls of the Philippines, a country known to be one of Asia’s shopping havens.
Mayweather and his team are in the Philippines upon the invitation of Vans CEO Wendell Cunanan for the boxing champion to take a vacation and to meet Filipino fans.
