Google is again honoring Philippine Independence Day with a specially-designed Doodle art. This is the 10th time the internet browser is featuring the Philippine flag and colors in its home page.
The new Google Doodle commemorates the 121st anniversary of Philippine Independence on June 12, 2019.
In a Google release sent to Good News Pilipinas the popular internet company said it salutes the Philippines and its flag.

Google noted the 1898 raising of the Philippine flag in Kawit, Cavite as Filipinos declared independence and the new nation “finally claimed its freedom after over 300 years of colonial rule from Spain.”
Google describes the rationale for its new Google Doodle art displaying the Philippine flag flying solo amidst clear blue skies:
“The Philippine flag itself is a powerful symbol of the independence movement, with each of its colors carrying a significant meaning: blue represents truth and justice, red symbolizes patriotism, and white stands for equality.
The three stars at the corner represent the three main regions of the Philippines – Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Meanwhile, the eight rays of the sun stand for the first eight provinces that went into battle against Spain.”
Google has created Doodle art for other Philippine milestones such as the Maskara Festival and birth anniversaries of Filipino heroes and historical figures.
