Globe has partnered with ChildFund Philippines to provide safety tips on how parents can keep their children safe in the time of COVID-19.
The partnership between the Philippine telecommunications company and the international non-governmental organization that ensures the healthy and safe beginnings of Filipino children will have Globe providing SMS Blasting services via AMBER.ph to reach families and inform them on ways to keep their children safe from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Enabled by Globe’s SMS blast solutions, ChildFund has also implemented a Home-based Family Activity Kits (HFAK) facility, reaching out to 8,729 families from Apayao to Tawi-Tawi, five days a week. This includes suggested activities in creating a family routine, social and emotional learnings, farming, arts, and craft activities to foster unity and creativity among family members.
In addition, the organization has completed its six virtual training sessions on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and Psychological First Aid (PFA), attended and completed by 43 individuals representing the organization’s 12 local partners nationwide.
These virtual training sessions equip local partners with additional knowledge and skills to handle stress and anxiety that is inherent during a pandemic, which they, in turn, can utilize in conducting the same training to parents, volunteers, caregivers, and some local government units, all to ensure the protection and development of a child.
“The quarantine poses challenges for us to physically reach families, but we believe that harnessing technology through our SMS services can help fulfill ChildFund’s vision of helping young individuals achieve their potential,” shared Globe Chief Commercial Officer Albert de Larrazabal.
Globe aims to reach more people as it continues to provide its mobile and other digital solutions to customers and partners, amid the new normal. It continues to enable more personalized customer experiences through innovative digital platforms, partnerships with public and private organizations, and improved care channels such as customer service apps and chatbots.
“We understand that life goes on even during a quarantine. Through our enhanced services and partnerships with reputable organizations like ChildFund Philippines, we hope to support more Filipinos as they stay connected, productive, and informed, even at home,” added de Larrazabal.
To stay updated on the latest COVID-19 developments, Globe mobile and broadband customers are also given free access to the official websites of the Department of Health (DOH) and National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
Globe Telecom has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic by providing pre-loaded mobile phones to hospital workers, giving free data access to government sites for COVID-19 concerns, and raising over Php27 million for frontliners, patients, and daily wage earners.
