Filipino Professor Marcelino H. Ang, Jr. is scheduled to talk about the relationship between robots and humans when the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) convenes on March 15, 2022.
Ang will address NCRP’s 4,713 member-researchers, scientists, technologists, and innovators across the country through its Annual Scientific Conference (ASC) and 89th General Membership Assembly (GMA) with the theme, Digital Transformation in Research: Powers and Perils.
One of the seven (7) parallel session topics that will be discussed in the ASC is the Technology-Researcher Interface in Digital Transformation.
Dr. Ang, Jr. a graduate of Mechanical Engineering bloomed at De La Salle University of the Philippines (DLSU) and now currently teaching Control and Mechatronics at the National University of Singapore (NUS), will provide an understanding of the connection and interrelationship of man and the machine – the researchers and robotics.
He will introduce, in his presentation, the different components and interactions of a robotic system, opportunities that lie ahead due to its advancements, and how robotics fit intelligent systems as a whole.
As the information age arises, automation at different levels of social and enterprise functions becomes necessary (Ismail, 2019). Ismail claims that even though industrial robotics has been existent for quite some time the boundaries are still distinguished—but advances nowadays continue to blur that line.
The public, particularly those in the field of robotic research and students in STEM strand are invited to watch the live streaming of the ASC and 89th GMA this March 15, 2022, 8 am – 3 pm at the official NRCP FB page, Research Pod (RPod).
