Do you know of anyone who plans to be poor all of his or her life?
“Do you know what my plan is in life? To have a poor life. To be a beggar and live in the streets.”
It may be funny, but no one plans to be poor. The question is, do you know of people who are always short on money, and when they grew older, all the more that they lived in poverty?
The question is why?
One reason is…
WRONG MINDSET
Because they grew up poor, they had the notion that they no longer have any hope to be able to get out of poverty and experience wealth. They began to generatedTHOUGHTS that are incorrect and unhealthy, and developed a wrong MINDSET.
They thought that it will be IMPOSSIBLE for them to be hired at work because they weren’t able to finish college.
But this is a WRONG MINDSET. Manny Pacquiao did not come from a rich family, and did not finish his schooling. The famous inventor Thomas Edison had only three months of formal school. Aside from the fact that he was taught by his own mother at home, he also did a lot of
SELF-STUDY.
Because the truth is, if we really want it, we can make a way for it. If we don’t, we will only make excuses.
Another possible reason is because of…
WRONG DECISIONS
Maybe some of us made the wrong decision because we are already deep in debt and we are being pressured. In cases like this, the tendency for us is to really not be able to decide correctly.
Sometimes, when we need money, the first thing that we think about is to BORROW MONEY.
We’re always thinking of the easy way out. This is why and how some people who are already deep in debt are buried even farther down by more debts.
Out of desperation, we are no longer able to think clearly and correctly, and as a result, we tend to compromise our values.
Lastly, this is also because of…
WRONG STRATEGY
Consider this situation: Because we’ve been in debt for so long, and we’ve been living in poverty for so long, we tend to just want “EASY” money. We no longer want to work hard. What we want is to get into a business or a job that will allow us to get rich instantly.
And then, we experience a JACKPOT, we become one-day- millionaires. And the money that we have acquired doesn’t last long, because as much as we were easily able to get the money, we also found it very easy to spend it.
To “Go With The Flow” is a wrong strategy.
If you don’t want to grow old with no savings, don’t worry. You still have TIME to right the wrongs that have caused you to live in poverty today.
What you need to do is to just TRUST that you can rise above your situation, no matter how buried in debt and poverty you perceive yourself to be.
MAKE THE DECISION to do the right thing, and don’t repeat the wrong decisions and wrong strategies that you have allowed yourself to get caught up in the past.
Start to PLAN, and you can do this by creating a budget. You just have to be sure that you have the discipline to follow it. This is so that, no matter how much you earn, you won’t have a hard time to make ends meet.
THINK. REFLECT. APPLY.
Do you believe that you can rise above your situation of poverty?
What are you doing in order for you to not remain in poverty?
What plans do you have to overcome poverty?
