Marcelito Pomoy, the Filipino pride at the 2020 America’s Got Talent: Champions stage, was just named the third runner up winner by the AGT Superfans.
Pomoy was first named in the Top 5 among the 10 AGT Champions grand finalists. They were then ranked from top 1 to 5 but only one was named the AGT Champion of Champions. India’s dance crew V.Unbeatable was eventually declared champion and brought home the trophy and the $20,000 grand prize.
Pomoy, the dual-voiced singer who effortlessly switches from soprano to tenor in incredible renditions of duets, opened the AGT Champions Finale show on February 18 morning (February 17 evening in the United States) on a high note – and on a pedestal overlooking the entire AGT theater – as he sang Queen’s iconic “We Are The Champions”.
Pomoy sang the Freddie Mercury hit song as fellow Grand Finalists Boogie Storm, Duo Transcend, Hans, and Sanduo Trio Russian Bar performed on stage.
The Filipino singer went on social media ahead of the Finale and asked supporters to watch his finale performance.
“As what I am always saying… Win or Lose I know that I am already a champion because in your hearts.. I know that we won already.. We raised our Filipino Flag and represented our country to the best that I can be..
“My dream has already been a reality with a bonus.. It is to be able to perform not just once, twice or thrice but there will be a fourth time tomorrow on one of the biggest competition in the whole world… America’s Got Talent the Champions Edition..”
