Writing is how I describe myself since I can express myself more clearly in writing than in speech. In the same way that writing down things is better for me than orally expressing them, it is comparable to art. I like to write rudimentary poems or simply write aimlessly while I'm not making stuff. Even though I don't share the poetry I write with anybody, it feels like a weight has been lifted off my chest when I get the words down on paper since it's yet another nonverbal communication mechanism I utilize. The writing that appears in books defines me as well, in addition to the writing that I do. I adore reading, and without books I would be completely lost in the world. When I need one or just want to pass the time, books provide a distraction from reality.
