Filipina singer, Alisah Bonaobra made it to the Six Chair Challenge of the X-Factor UK, but it did not go without a hitch.
Interaksyon reports that after wowing the judges in her initial audition, she was eliminated in the Boot Camp round, with Rai-Elle Williams besting her, Natalie Lomax and fellow Pinay, Gaga Lord.
But here’s where Alisah turned the tide: she refused to leave the stage, and pleaded with the judges to give her a second chance.
“We made a decision unanimously. Sorry.” answered X-Factor UK judge Simon Cowell.
However, Nicole Scherzinger spoke up, and when she asked Alisah what she wanted to do, Alisah asked for a second chance to prove herself.
At this point, Alisah belted out excerpts from the group performance, impressing the judges.
“Based on what you did there, from what I can hear, we’re going to give you a pass on this one,” said Simon.
This seemed to fuel the Filipina talent when she on stage the next day, and, more determined that ever, said:
“I don’t want this battle to be over yet. This battle is for my family.”
For that round, she chose to sing Defying Gravity from the Broadway show, Wicked, nailing every note and ultimately bringing the house down.
Alisah is now moving on to the next phase of the X-Factor UK; bringing her a step closer to fulfilling her dream.
