Filipino-Canadian professional pool player Alex “The Lion” Pagulayan dominated the 2018 Dixieland Classic Tour, picking up the title at the Dixieland Classic II Finals against Shannon Murphy in the double elimination finals event.
The Filipino World Champion swept all the main events in the Dixieland Tour, bagging the Banks Ring Game, the 9-Ball mini, and the 10-Ball main event.
On his way to the Dixieland Classic, Pagulayan also won the Big Tyme Classic One Pocket Division.
Fellow Filipino players were also top finishers in the Big Tyme Classic One Pocket:
- 4th Francisco Bustamante
- 5th/6th Dennis Orcollo and Warren Kiamco
Pagulayan also won the 2018 Scotty Townsend Memorial One Pocket.
Pagulayan’s bio states he was born in Cabagan, Isabela and has been playing pool since he was 10 years old.
Pagulayan considers winning the World 9-Ball title in 2004 as one of his best winning moments.
