Four airport security personnel have been rewarded for their honesty and dedication to passenger service after immediately returning found lost baggage containing cash, jewelry, and other valuable items.
Security officers Dianalyn Ignacio, Jessie D. Amoroso, Dewnil L. Husada, and security guard Steward Lapatan were recognized for their exceptional honesty and integrity and presented with awards and certificates of appreciation by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) during a flag-raising ceremony today, April 3, 2023.
- Dianalyn Ignacio, a CAAP Security and Intelligence Service (CSIS) personnel
assigned at the departure area of Roxas Airport, together with Cebu Pacific
staff Victor Aragon and an Aviation Security Group police officer named
“Ejercito,” returned a sling bag containing cash amounting to 200,000
pesos, medicines, and important documents owned by a former Capiz Governor. - Husada and Amoroso, also from CSIS in Roxas Airport, turned over valuable baggage containing high-value jewelry and important documents left behind by a foreign passenger at Roxas Airport’s arrival area.
- Another awardee was Steward Lapatan, a security guard on duty who was able to return a lost file organizer that contained a large sum of cash
amounting to 32,000 pesos and other important documents that were left by a pilot client last March 24 in the Flight Standards Inspectorate Service
(FSIS) building in Pasay City Central Office.
“These actions remind us that the culture of honesty is alive and well within our agency. I hope that these examples will inspire the rest of the CAAP community to emulate their honesty and do the same in every way possible, especially as we are civil servants,” said Director General Tamayo. “They should make us all proud by exemplifying the absolute aspiration for integrity and honesty in public service,” he added.
There are many stories of honest airport personnel in Philippine airports, including the Manila Airport workers who used Facebook to trace the owner and return a lost wallet, Bohol Airport employees returning lost baggage, and Zamboanga Airport cleaners returning found cash.
