Richardson Navor, a 28 year-old financial analyst with cerebral palsy, has been recognized as the country’s Happiest Pinoy for 2015.
Navor, a Magna Cum Laude graduate from the University of the East and now an IBM Philippines analyst, won the search conducted by Cebuana Lhuillier and took home a trophy and the 1 million cash prize.
According to Navor, he will use the P1 million cash to support the needs of PWDs.
“One million pesos – many would think it could buy a lot of gadgets. But to the Happiest Pinoy, the amount will go a long way. It could buy a lot of wheelchairs and provide for many scholarships. I’ll make sure that this blessing will not end with me,” Navor said.
Instead of listening to the judgments of people and feeling weak, Navor made his physical disabilities a tool to inspire and influence people. Putting aside his disabilities, Navor became a multi-achiever in his college years.
In his freshman year, Navor was elected the Founding President of the student organization Book Lovers of the University of the East. In his sophomore year, he was elected the President of UE CBA Caloocan Student Council. In his junior year, he was elected the Vice President for Academics of the UE Caloocan Chapter of the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants. In his fourth year, he was elected the President of UE Caloocan’s Central Student Council and in his fifth year, he was elected the Vice President for Information and Publicity of the National Federation of the Junior Institute of Accountants’ NCR Council.
