The Dine To Unite online platform is helping Filipino restaurants fight the COVID 19 pandemic’s impact on business.
The online index of restaurants gives users access to their favorite meals from restaurants across Manila while providing a way for businesses to keep going despite the uncertain times.
Dine To Unite notes how, under the stress caused by the community quarantines and COVID-19, restaurant sales have gone down by an estimated 70% according to Mosaic Solutions, the restaurant technology provider of Dine To Unite.
The grassroots initiative presents itself as a company that moves to support local restaurants to prevent them from shutting down and laying off their employees.
Dine to Unite customers can search for their preferred restaurant, location, and/or category. The result will be a list of available restaurants, complete with address, type of service, operating hours, and contact details. They also list the latest promotions offered.
Dine to Unite has been open for restaurant registration since May 6, 2020.
Continuing to solve modern problems with modern solutions, Dine to Unite encourages customers to create community awareness by taking photos of their meals and sharing them on social media using the hashtags “#KumainAtMagkaisa” and “#DineToUnite.”
Mosaic Solutions hopes that this will be the first step of many restaurants in adjusting to the requirements of the “new normal,” as COVID-19 impacts our society in different ways, be it with keeping up with health regulations, making recipe adjustments, or utilizing electronic services.
Another service utilizing modern digital capabilities is OneSTore City, a DOST-produced app where users can easily order their favorite Pinoy goods while supporting small businesses.
The local coffee industry has also found a champion in De La Salle University’s Food and Water Institute which has introduced a study that ushers in a new policy to boost the coffee industry.
