Global hotel chain Wyndham Destinations has opened its new regional headquarters in Clark, Pampanga to support its expanding Philippines-based team and its growth across Asia Pacific.
The Florida-based Wyndham Destinations has expanded its personnel from five in 2016 to more than 300 team members in three years.
The Wyndham Destinations Asia-Pacific headquarter which cost PhP150 million to build, was inaugurated on October 18 and can accommodate up to 800 staff with morning and evening schedules.
The new Asia-Pacific HQ features the following accommodations for personnel:
- expansive working areas
- seven meeting pods
- four training rooms
- a café-style canteen
- a games room
The new Wyndham Destinations building also bears green features such as:
- LED lighting
- eco-friendly furniture
- waste segregation and recycling programs
The company’s WYNDGreen program also enforces sustainability initiatives such as eliminating the use of both balloons and single use-straws in an effort to reduce consumption of single-use plastic.
“Today’s opening is an exciting milestone for our business as it gives this important regional support team a brand new, permanent home,” said Wyndham Vacation Clubs President and Managing Director of International Operations Barry Robinson in the media release.
“Our Philippines team has an important function, serving our four other corporate offices across Asia Pacific, along with 20 preview centres across the region and our ever-expanding management portfolio. It also recently began supporting the global headquarters in the USA. With Wyndham Destinations’ evolving customer base around the world, our Clark office will continue to support the company’s growing global footprint,” added the Wyndham official.
More than 50 people gathered for the opening celebration including Singapore based, Barry Robinson, President and Managing Director, International Operations, Wyndham Vacation Clubs; Australian based Liam Crawley, Chief Financial Officer, Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific; along with representatives from the global headquarters office.
“Clark is the perfect location for this regional office, because of the talented and multilingual professionals, thriving business landscape, minimal congestion and well-connected public transport system it offers,” Robinson said.
“Wyndham Destinations is excited to bring this major investment to the Philippines and to increase our commitment to the city of Clark. We are grateful for our talented and dedicated team and are excited to deliver a modern and inspirational working environment, which is conducive to creativity, collaboration and professional development,” the Wyndham President added.
International companies have been expanding their operations in the Philippines, among them, the Marriott hotels, Japan’s Hoya Lens, and Sitel.
