Miss Philippines Maureen Montagne finished strong as first runner up in this year’s Miss Eco International pageant held in Cairo, Egypt.
Montagne shared the stage with fellow Filipina 2018 Miss Eco International Cynthia Thomalla, the first Filipina to win the title, who turned over her crown to Miss Peru.
Montagne made a strong showing on the pageant, securing the 1st runner up title, also placing first runner-up in the beachwear competition, and making it to the top 10 of the national costume competition wearing the Maranao princess-inspired attire created by Filipino designer Edwin Uy.
Prior to the coronation night in March 29 (March 30, Manila time) the Filipina-American-French beauty described her experience and expressed her gratitude to all her supporters.
On Montagne’s Instagram post she wrote, “This journey has been so incredible and I’m thankful for each and everyone of you who has supported me along the way.”
Montagne also showed her positive outlook adding, “No matter what happens I will leave Egypt full of love, light, and new found purpose.”
