Miss Philippines Trixia Maria Maraňa won the Miss Asia 2016 crown and title in the August pageant held in India.
The 23 year-old Philippine bet from Dumaguete won from among 18 beauty title holders.
Maraňa won a cash prize of 300,000 rupees.
The bank employee from Negros had previously joined Miss Negros Oriental 2015, Abuyog Queen of Leyte 2011, Miss Tourism Philippines 2010, Miss Dumaguete City 2009, and Sinulog Queen de Kabankalan before winning the country’s first Miss Asia crown.
The Philippines placed runner-up in the first Miss Asia pageant 2015.
