Filipinos star in New York staging of ‘Insiders’

Luis Pedron (comedian) was born in the Philippines. He is a professional actor, award winning director and publicist from the Acting Conservatory of the School For Film & Television. Film Credits include ‘American Adobo’, ’13 Going on 30′ and Shortcut to Happiness‘. Directing credits include: ‘Receptionist Smart’, ‘VIP – Very Important Pinoys’, and ‘Party Games.’
Antonio Alvaira (narrator/jester) of The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts (The School for Film and Television) has appeared on The Filipino Channel (TFC), American Industrial commercials, ABC’s One Life to Live, Independent Films such as ‘Amulet’ directed by Rose Jarvis, ‘Party Games’, and ‘Multo’ and’Problema.’
Miguel Braganza II (priest) was born and raised in the Philippines and a Siliman University alumni with Bachelor of Arts in Theater. He is well known in the theater industry for one of his claimed projects in “Miss Saigon.” He is a foreign scholar (Alvin Ailey); 1987 Walter Terry Memorial Scholar (Dance and Choreography) Harvard University.
Anthea Neri (hooker) is a New York City resident and is a graduate of Western Carolina University with a degree in Bachelors of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science. Her past credits include: Original Cast of Mother Divine(Emma Hamilton) at the Greenwich HouseTheatre in NYC, 37th Season of Texas (“Sadie”) in Canyon Texas NUN-SENSE II (“Sister Robert Anne”), Cinderella (“Step Sister”), Ain’t Misbehavin, Tambourines to Glory, Time-Line.
The play’s dress and costume designer Julyann Mendoza is also a Filipino. She is a graduate of Fashion Design inthe Art Institute of New York City (AINYC). She was born and raised in Manila and has dreamed of becoming a couturier since 12 years old and aspires to share her talent to the world. “Insiders” is her design debut.
