Filipino photographers Ramon Castillo and Gina Meneses swept the top three places in the recently concluded “Coping with Climate Change: Finding Solutions” Asian Photo Contest.

Castillo’s award winning entry was the Wind Turbines in Bangui, Ilocos Norte dwarfing a wood gatherer.

Another entry of Castillo, “Reforestation,” won third prize, Gina Meneses’ entry titled “Rebirth” depicting the danger posed by forest denudation took the second prize.

Castillo and Meneses beat out 195 entries from India, Myanmar, Singapore and the Philippines.

The Asian Photo competition was sponsored by Los Baños-based Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization-Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture.
