At least 80,000 jobs are up for grabs in the biggest job fair on Labor Day, May 1. The Department of Labor and Employment said the jobs would be offered to new graduates and other job seekers who will participate in the employment fair.

Time magazine, in its recent issue, hailed the Filipinos’ favorite roasted suckling pig or lechon as the “Best Pig” in Asia. While TV chef Anthony Bourdain declared in his program that he had found the “best pig ever,” in the Philippines.

The Philippines is set to become the “wedding destination in Asia.” The Department of Tourism revealed the Association of Wedding Planners in the United States will bring in 10,000 couples in order to get married here.

Manila has topped polls as the “popular choice” to become the official host for the Declaration of the New 7 Wonders of Nature event in 2011.

The quality of life will improve in the next 12 months, is the view of many adult Filipinos in the latest survey by the Social Weather Stations.
