Purisima is EuroMoney’s Finance Minister of the Year 2012

Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima was named Euromoney’s Finance Minster of the Year 2012.
Purisima received his award from Euromoney’s group publisher Neil Osborn and editor Clive Horwood at the sidelines of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund meetings in Tokyo, Japan.
Euromoney commended the Finance Secretary for his “careful and successful stewardship” of the Philippines economy since 2010.
“This has led to a shift in perception and positive view of the Philippines’ economy, in which Purisima’s leadership and decision-making have been a key factor,” Euromoney said.
“Purisima has worked closely with president Benigno Aquino to champion the idea that ‘good governance is good economics,” Euromoney added.
In a statement, Purisima thanked Euromoney for the said recognition.
“More than anything else, this is a testament to how far the Philippine economic story has turned around under the leadership of President Aquino,” the Finance Chief said.
