Filipinos star in S’pore run of Broadway Musical ‘Avenue Q’

Five Filipino actors will topbill the Broadway hit “Avenue Q” which will be shown in Singapore starting September 27.
Rachel Alejandro, OJ Mariano, Noel Rayos, Bibo Reyes and Pheona Barranda will be included in the Singapore run of the musical at the Grand Theater of the Marina Bay Sands until October 7.
“Avenue Q” tells the story of a college graduate named Princeton who moves into a New York apartment on Avenue Q. Here, he meets the rest of the characters: Kate, Rod, Trekkie and Lucy.
Since opening in Broadway in 2003, the musical has toured in Las Vegas, West End, Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Brazil, Hungary and Italy, among others.
“Avenue Q,” a concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, is based on a book by Jeff Whitty.
The Singapore run of the musical is directed by Bobby Garcia and Chari Arespacochaga.
