Rachel Weisz amazed by the beauty of Palawan

Hollywood actress Rachel Weisz was so reportedly smitten by the beauty of Palawan that it wouldn’t be a surprise if she even considers buying real estate property there.
According to Jun Juban, local producer of the film, “The Bourne Legacy,” the actress even specifically told him that she can “live” in that side of paradise, “forever.”
It isn’t only Weisz who felt affection for the island province known for its unsullied beaches, says Juban.
“The [film] contingent, including the [rest of the] cast who visited the island, has been very expressive with their awe and amazement,” he said.
The cast and crew of the much-hyped action film moved to Palawan from their filming locations all over Metro Manila a couple of weeks ago, aiming to shoot several scenes of the movie there.
Juban hinted that the “end part” of the movie might also be filmed in Palawan.
In any case, he asserted that the scenes would show the beauty of Palawan to millions of viewers all over the world when the movie opens in theaters sometime in August.
He said tourism in the Philippines will be enhanced – if not already – because of the movie.
“There are close to 200 staff, crew and actors involved in this film.
This means 10,000 hotel room nights spread in two major hotels in Manila. This definitely exceeded initial projections,” he said.
The local producer thanked the government for its support, particularly Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr., the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, the departments of the Interior and Local Government, Finance and Tourism and local officials of the cities of Manila, Pasay, Navotas, Quezon and Marikina.
Juban said that there are plans to have a premier showing in Manila.
“We have been part of the Filipino film industry for three decades and it’s only now that a top action franchise movie is featuring Manila as Manila. Once we see ‘The Bourne Legacy’ on the wide screen worldwide, our fellow kababayans will surely be very proud,” he said.
Starring alongside the multi-awarded Weisz in the much-hyped action movie are actors Jeremy Renner and Edward Norton.
