With the increase of the Chinese population in the world in general and in the Philippines, in particular, the Chinese Lunar New Year is becoming even more celebrated.  In fact, this year, for the first time, it has been declared a non-working special public holiday in our country.  In other countries with a bigger Chinese population, the whole week was a holiday.

The Water Dragon is noted for its calm, visionary intelligence, creativity and logic. It may be a period of testing where ambitions are challenged and personal breakthroughs are sought. It is believed that the year will bring opportunities and accomplishments for many.

This year is a special year for my wife and myself:

  1. It is the year of the Water Dragon and happily, one of the Lucky signs for this year is my sign of the Monkey. The other Lucky signs are the Rooster and Rat.
  2. The Unlucky signs are Horse, Ox and Dog and happily, no one in our family belongs to these signs.
  3. We quietly celebrated with our family, our 41st Wedding Anniversary on January 23, the exact date of the Lunar New year.

It is said to be a good time to start a business and new ventures especially for those who fall under a Lucky sign. However, while business may be good, overspending is said to also happen during the year of the Water Dragon. There is warning to be careful and to SAVE for the future.

This warning is not specifically that important this year because it is a principle that we should really follow at all times. This is what we were brought up to remember from our youth and what we have opened our children’s eyes to. Of course, each person has his own way of interpreting what is considered savings. This is why we each should have our own Personal Financial Plan.

I’d like to commend my wife especially for her ability to save. My children and I like to tease her that her favorite past time is to save. She readily admits and reminds me that I am the one who always reminds all that everything starts with the same peso. She just puts my words into action.

It is auspicious that we are embarking on projects for KsKSMP Coop that I am spearheading precisely on this lucky year for me. We are personally invested in these same projects. I will talk more about these projects in the coming weeks. I hope you will be part of the projects. Learn about these through www.kskcoop.com.

Our seminars continue. Learn about them through www.colaycofoundation.com or call 6373731 or 41.
